Jennifer Wertalik, Ph.D., BCBA, is an Assistant Professor at Georgia Southern University- Armstrong Campus where she teaches coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis. Before receiving her doctoral degree from The Pennsylvania State University, Jennifer worked for twelve years in a public-school setting for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities using the principles of Behavior Analysis as well as Precision Teaching. Additionally, Jennifer worked in home settings for eight years where she provided home program coordination and parent training. Jennifer has experience working with individuals ranging from 3-22 years of age in a variety of areas including treating problem behavior and teaching functional academics, daily living, and community-based skills. During that time Jennifer obtained her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorder from Ball State University and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2013. Jennifer’s research focuses on evidence-based instruction for individuals with autism and severe disabilities. She is specifically interested in investigating use of video-based instruction to promote fluency and automaticity of daily living skills in order to improve long-term outcomes and the quality of life for this population.
