Dr. Kathryn Haughney

Dr. Kathryn L. Haughney has over 20 years of experience teaching, conducting research and advocating for students with moderate to extensive support needs and their families. She earned her doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is currently an active member of the Council for Exceptional Children’s’ Teacher Education Division. With published works primarily evaluating academic instruction strategies for students who rely on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), Kathryn also focuses on applied behavior analysis, the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse learners, literacy for learners with the most severe disabilities, and supports for transition to post-school life.
